The historic Market Town of Pickering , 4 miles away has many attractions including Castle, Trout fishing, and a large family of ducks living beside the picturesque stream which flows through the centre! There are abundant Antique shops and the award winning Beck Isle Museum. From Pickering, travel on the Steam Railway across the North Yorkshire Moors to Grosmont , (one of many local places featured in Heartbeat), and on to Whitby, Birthplace of Captain Cook!, for incredible Fish and Chips!! Dalby Forest is virtually outside our back door, and is great for walking and cycling, and there are 7 famous Gardens of Yorkshire within easy travelling.
